Task lists

Not everything needs a board. Lists are simple to-do lists that work like a to-do app: type, press Enter, done. They live in a project next to boards and docs.

Create a list

  1. Click Add content under the project in the sidebar and choose List.
  2. Give it a name and, optionally, a description ("What is this list for?").

Add tasks

Type in Task name — press Enter to add and press Enter. The field stays open for the next task.

Date, person, repeat and reminder are one click away on each task. Drag tasks to put them in order.

  • Overdue tasks are red, tasks due today are amber.
  • Tick a task off to complete it. Done tasks fold away under Completed; click a done task's circle again to reopen it.

Task details

Click a task to open it on the side. Everything saves as you go:

  • Notes: add notes, links or a checklist.
  • Due date and time, and a start date.
  • Assignee.
  • Repeat and Reminder (see below).

Use the task's menu to Duplicate it (the copy appears right below) or delete it. Watch a task to get notified about changes.

Repeating tasks

Set Repeat to every day, week, month or year. When you tick off a repeating task, its due date moves to the next time instead of the task disappearing. Doesn't repeat turns it off.

Reminders

Choose At due time, 10 minutes before, 1 hour before or 1 day before. A reminder needs a due date, because it's counted back from it.

Reminders arrive in the notification bell and as a browser notification. They go to the assignee, or to the person who added the task when nobody is assigned. Times follow your own time zone.

Morning summary

Every morning at 8:00 (your time) you get one summary of the list tasks that are due today or overdue. You can turn it off in your profile settings.

Lists and your day

List tasks also appear in My Work, next to your board issues. Click the ☀ on a task to plan it into My Day.

Offline

Lists keep working without internet. Your changes sync when you're back online.

Who can do what

Project editors and admins add and edit tasks; project admins delete lists. See Roles and permissions.
