My Work, My Day and quick capture
These are your personal views: what's on your plate across every project, what you plan to do today, and a private inbox for ideas you don't want to file yet.
My Work
Click My Work in the sidebar. It lists board issues and list tasks from all your projects in one place, grouped by project, with the board or list each one comes from, its status, priority and due date.
- Assigned to me – work you own.
- Created by me – work you created and want to keep an eye on, whoever owns it.
Use the tabs All, Today, Overdue and This week to narrow the list. Click the circle in front of a row to mark it done (click again to reopen it).
My Day
My Day sits at the top of My Work. It's your plan for today:
- Click the ☀ on any issue or task (in My Work, or wherever the sun shows) to Add to My Day.
- Drag items into the order you want to work on them.
- Click the circle to mark an item done. Done items move to the bottom.
Planning never changes a task: its status, due date and assignee stay as they are. Unfinished items don't come back on their own the next day — click Bring over … unfinished when you want yesterday's leftovers on today's list.
Focus timer
Press ▶ (Start focus timer) on an issue in My Day. The timer shows in the top bar on every page and keeps running across tabs and devices. Only one timer runs at a time.
When you stop it, Log your time opens: check the Time worked (change it if you took a break), the Date, add a Note and, if your workspace uses billing activities, pick what you worked on. Click Log time to add it to the issue, or Discard to stop without logging anything.
Timesheet
Click Timesheet in the sidebar to see your week, with totals per day and for the week, and to log, edit or delete time. See Time tracking and billing.
Quick capture
Got an idea in the middle of something? Press C anywhere in the app (not while typing), or click the capture button in the top bar (on phones, the round button) to open Quick capture.
- Idea – the text. Markdown and code blocks are kept.
- Link (optional) and Source (optional), e.g. "Call with Ana".
- Organize as – Board card, Task, Doc, Bookmark, Snippet, or Not sure yet.
Captures go to your private Captures inbox — you don't have to pick a project. Quick capture also works offline when offline mode is on.
The Captures inbox
Click Captures in the sidebar. Only you can see your captures. Tabs: Inbox, Processed and Archived, plus a search box.
To file a capture, click Organize:
- Turn into a board card, task, doc, bookmark or snippet.
- Pick the Destination (and, for a card, the Column).
- Check and edit the Preview — edit before creating.
- Create it, then open the new item straight from the link.
The capture moves to Processed. Organizing is safe: clicking twice never creates two items, and if anything fails, the capture stays in your inbox. You can also Edit, Archive, restore or delete captures; deleting a capture never deletes what you already created from it.
TIP
The Brainitive browser extension can save the page you are looking at to your captures too — see Apps, extension and shortcuts.
