Working together live
Brainitive updates in real time. When teammates edit, move or comment, you see it right away — without reloading.
Write docs together
Several people can edit the same doc at the same time. Everyone's cursor shows with their name, and changes appear instantly for everyone.
- You edit the doc's draft together. Draft, publish and review work as before: readers only see the new version once someone publishes it.
- If you lose your connection, keep writing — your changes are kept on your device and merged when you're back.
- If live editing can't be reached, you see "Live editing unavailable — editing alone" with the reason (server unreachable, connection refused, timeout, or the live server can't reach Brainitive). Keep editing on your own: your changes save as usual. Brainitive keeps retrying in the background and switches back to live editing by itself; anything you wrote alone is saved first. Try again reconnects right away.
Issue descriptions
Issue descriptions can be written together the same way, with everyone's cursor visible.
Comments, presence and typing
- Comments on issues and replies on helpdesk tickets appear the moment they are posted.
- Who's here: avatars at the top show who else has the same issue, board or plan open.
- Typing: "Anna is typing…" shows under the comment box while someone writes a comment.
Live boards and plans
Cards that teammates create, move, edit or delete show up on your open board right away — in the board, list, timeline and calendar views and on the backlog. Changes made by automations, imports or an AI assistant appear too.
Your own view stays as it is: your filters, the card you are dragging and the card you have open are not disturbed.
Gantt plans follow other people's changes as well, and never overwrite an edit you haven't saved yet.
Whiteboards
Draw together on a whiteboard: shapes, sticky notes and images appear for everyone, with named cursors. If you go offline, keep drawing; your changes merge when you reconnect. People who can only view the whiteboard see the live drawing and cursors, but can't change anything.
The notification bell
The bell rings the moment something arrives. When you read a notification in one tab, every other open tab updates too. See Notifications.
Self-hosted?
Live editing and live updates need Brainitive's realtime service. Without it, everything still works, just without the live parts — see Self-hosting and Configuration.
